Despite setbacks, new integrations\u2014particularly with artificial intelligence (AI)\u2014are sparking a second wind for the metaverse. Here\u2019s a look at the journey so far, the lessons learned, and how AI could transform the virtual workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rise and Fall of the Metaverse Hype<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When Meta (formerly Facebook) launched Horizon Workrooms, it envisioned a virtual workspace where teams could meet and collaborate.
